What is an Argentinian Grill?

Argentinian grills are designed for grilling meat over an open fire, featuring a height-adjustable V-shaped grate that can be easily adjusted with a large handle on the side. This setup allows for precise control over cooking temperatures. The grill can include either a simple charcoal pan insert or be lined with firebricks for improved efficiency. Timber or charcoal are burned in the tray or firebrick base or a brasero can be used to burn the timber and shovel hot coals under the cooking grill.

Benefits of Cooking on an Asado/Parrilla Grill

Cooking with Argentinian Parrilla Grills offers numerous benefits. The height-adjustable V-shaped grill catches fat and drains it away from the fire, minimizing flare-ups. The fat will drip and collect in removable fat drip pans that run along the front of the grills. In addition to this, the V-grills themselves easily remove from the frame for easy clean up. The generous height adjustment range allows for various cooking methods, from hot and fast searing to slow cooking with a smoky flavour. This versatility makes it unnecessary to have a separate offset smoker for smoked meats. This unit can become a centrepiece that replaces the need for multiple cooking units.
